Happy Monday, everyone. Michael Casagrande has a few final notes on Alabama’s 40 point win over Mississippi State.
— Going a little deeper on the third downs, Young was 6-for-6 on such plays with 159 yards for an average of 25.4 yards. Only one of the six completions was stopped short of a first down. MSU was 7-for-10 passing on third downs for 45 yards and five conversions.
— John Metchie was the favored target in the first half when he had five of his team-high seven receptions. He hasn’t been breaking many big plays but he broke off a 46-yard touchdown on his second catch. Metchie leads the team with 41 receptions — 12 more than Jameson Williams — but the Ohio State transfer averages 20.2 yards per catch compared to Metchie’s 11.7.
It seemed that the Bulldogs made a concerted effort to take away Jameson Williams, and Metchie stepped up and had a WR1 type game. Hopefully both continue to be threats and complement one another.
Alabama is favored by a cool four touchdowns this week.
Tennessee at No. 4 Alabama (-27.5): The Crimson Tide returned to the win column with a vengeance on Saturday night by thrashing Mississippi State 49-9. Now, they welcome a Tennessee team that may be emotionally drained following a — how should we put this — turbulent loss to Ole Miss. It would seem that Nick Saban is likely motivated to give Josh Heupel a hostile welcome to this old rivalry, especially after the Volunteers kicked former Saban assistant Jeremy Pruitt to the curb after the 2020 season.
In case you missed it, Tennessee fans showed just what trash they are by throwing a bunch of debris on the field after a correctly called 4th down play sealed Lane Kiffin’s victory in Neyland.
There were zero reasons for Tennessee fans to pummel the field with debris in the game’s final minute. No matter how upset one might be over a questionable call, there is no excuse for hurling water bottles, golf balls, mustard and other items onto the field. If you can’t see why that behavior is completely unacceptable, you’re incapable of viewing the situation rationally. One of those items thrown onto the field could have seriously injured someone, and that cannot be tolerated.
Maybe they will burn their own houses down after Alabama takes care of business on Saturday.
LSU and Ed Orgeron have settled, and he will coach through the season. This man has lost his mind.
With regards to Orgeron's personal life bleeding into his coaching life, sources also tell @WBRZ that there were multiple practices where "girlfriends" would be in attendance at prax and would "interfere". To the degree of children of the women taking part in drills with team.

This well-reported @BrodyAMiller piece goes into the many reasons Ed Orgeron is out at LSU — such as this detail: https://t.co/AiCIoiCKNs pic.twitter.com/ZemNazn31L

Ed, you are one impressive dumbass. Wonder how many pre-coital Red Bulls were consumed?
Anyhow, LSU apparently wants to move on from “have dick, will travel” to a known cuckold.
Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M head coach
The name that will get the most attention until he makes clear he’s staying in College Station. Fisher has a good relationship with Woodward, who hired him at Texas A&M, and might be the most obvious replacement available. Fisher recently agreed to another big contract extension, but as Yahoo Sports pointed out recently, he is able to leave Texas A&M with no buyout. Fisher was part of Nick Saban’s national championship-winning staff at LSU and is very familiar with what it takes to succeed in Baton Rouge. LSU has tried and failed to land Fisher in the past, but is expected to at least see if he’d be willing to come this time. Woodward won’t have a problem rounding up enough money to pay Fisher more than his current $9 million salary.
Guess we’ll see how that goes. Jimbo is pricey.
Last, we had Bama on Bama crime yesterday.

The book on Diggs this year is that he has given up a lot of catches, but has seven INTs because he’s a gambler. Well, it took Mac one play to shoot back.

That is so Mac, isn’t it?
That’s about it for today. Have a great week.
