A nightmarish start to the game for Alabama (two drops for first downs, a fumble on the 9 yard line, two coverage busts, and a roughing the punter) put the Tide into a bit of a hole early on. But to their credit, the Alabama defense forced three straight three and outs and the offense put together two long scoring drives to get the Tide the lead back going into half time.
Alabama has utterly dominated the time of possession, with pretty much all of Tennessee’s yards coming on a couple of busted coverages, and the Tide front seven have totally shut down the Volunteer’s elite rushing attack. Meanwhile, Bryce Young has been playing lights out for the offense.
As long as Alabama maintains their level of play and doesn’t commit the same self-inflicted wounds that they did in the first quarter, they should be able to put this game away.
Roll Tide!
