Alabama committed nearly every possible self-inflicted error you could think of on the first two drives in all three phases of the game, and let LSU jump out to a 7-0 lead. An injury to center Darrian Dalcourt saw the Alabama offensive line fall into shambles as LSU shamelessly blitzed the house on every play.
Fortunately, the Alabama defense allowed basically 0 yards after the first drive, and kept the Tide in the game all half until the offense FINALLY decided to use some blitz-beaters and get the first touchdown.
Then Christian Harris tipped a pass for Jalyn Armour-Davis to intercept, and Alabama quickly punched it in for another score.
Will Anderson already has 3.5 tackles for loss as the dynamic edge rusher has done his best to carry Alabama to a win, as he has all season.
It was a horrible start for Alabama, but, thankfully, LSU wasn’t able to really capitalize on it. Now the Tide just has to clean up all the dumb errors and finish out the game. I expect Saban went full nuclear in the locker room.
