Jumbo Package: Might Jaylen Waddle go in the top ten?

Your latest Crimson Tide news and notes.

NCAA Football: CFP National Championship-Ohio State vs Alabama Tuscaloosa News-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Thursday, everyone. We won’t talk about that nonsense in Fayetteville last night, because nonsense is what it was.

Softball whipped UAB to stay unbeaten.

A Bailey Dowling three-run home run gave the Crimson Tide the lead over UAB (4-5) and Alabama remained in front for the remained of the game, scoring in four of the six innings at the plate. In the circle, Sarah Cornell (1-0) earned her first win of the season, allowing just three hits and one run over 5.0 innings while Lexi Kilfoyl threw 2.0 shutout innings behind her, striking out four of the seven batters she faced. Amy Woodham (0-4) took the loss for the Blazers.

The ladies are off to a roaring start this season.

Rivals has some transfer notes, and Ben Davis is getting more attention than some may have expected.

Ben Davis — Davis, the former 5 star from 2016, has been hearing from teams like Texas, Arizona,USC, Colorado, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, Michigan State, Kentucky, Florida State and others he tells me which surprises me a bit. He has a very high ceiling but never panned out at Alabama and I felt he would have to step down from the Power Five. I’m not sure who has offered yet or who he likes and neither is he so he’s just starting this journey it appears.

Henry To’oto’o — While schools like Oregon and Ohio State and others apparently aren’t giving up this seems to be a done deal to Alabama for the former Vols 4 star.

This would be a fair trade for Alabama, but again Greg Sankey has to make it so.

NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah has Waddle ranked just ahead of Smitty.

“I ended up moving Jaylen Waddle up to the No. 2 receiver spot … he moves up to No. 6 on my overall board,” Jeremiah said on a recent episode of the Move The Sticks Podcast. “I went back and watched all of his 2019 targets together with what we saw this year. This dude, he’s got some freaky stuff to him. He is a really, really talented kid, a special kid.

It’s not just Smith who Waddle has beat in Jeremiah’s estimation, either.

“I was comparing him to the guys we had last year from Alabama,” he said. “To me, if you put Jeudy and Ruggs and DeVonta Smith and Waddle, I thought Waddle was the most impressive tape of any of the four.”

Teams will be lucky to have either.

Dr. Rhea is pleased with the way Drew Sanders has progressed.

Looking forward to seeing Drew this spring.

Last, Najee, we love you man but there are some things you just don’t need to do.

“I know that’s the thing to say ‘Roll Tide’ there, but, damn, sometimes I’m just getting food and they be like, ‘Roll Tide, Najee.’

“I’m like, ‘Bro, just let me eat my food.’

“Sometimes - because I like joking with people, they’ll say, ‘Roll Tide, Najee,’ and I’ll be like ‘War Eagle.’” He would then have to explain to the Alabama fan he was just “messing.”

That is not good messing, Najee.

That’s about it for now. Yeah, it’s light, but it’s what we got.

Roll Tide.
