This really should be a national holiday.
Five-star QB Ty Simpson will commit today at 2pm on CBS Sports HQ. Alabama has a great shot with him.
“Hey, Ty Simpson’s one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the country — (ranked) one or two on several (team) recruiting boards — and he’s going to make his decision on Friday,” Wiltfong said. “And the last three weeks, I’ve heard the same thing — Clemson with the edge, but mind not made up. And he’s still talking to (offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach) Bill O’Brien and Nick Saban and Alabama, and the new staff and (head) coach (Josh) Heupel and Tennessee. And did a heat check on this one over the weekend, and I still liked where Clemson stood for Ty.
“But he had one more big Zoom scheduled with Bill O’Brien, who he said — talking to Bill O’Brien about college football is like getting a PhD on the gridiron.”
Needless to say, that would be a huge get for BOB so soon after arriving in Tuscaloosa. Ty is the #3 pro style QB in the class, ranked #27 overall by 247sports and #61 on the composite.

Good for him.
Donta Hall got called up again.
For the second straight year, Donta Hall will move from the NBA G League to the NBA. The Toronto Raptors are signing the former Alabama center to a 10-day contract, the Athletic reported on Thursday night.
Playing for the Ignite in the G League’s bubble season in Florida, Hall has averaged 8.9 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in nine games while averaging 23.5 minutes of playing time since the league’s season started on Feb. 10.
Hopefully he can stick this time. Rim protection and rebounding are always at a premium.
Last, check out this Waddle stat.
Jaylen Waddle was the most electric returner in college football during his time at Alabama.

Despite playing in just 5 games, he was also the only FBS player with 2 80+ yard receiving TD in 2020.

I guess he’d have had five or six of them if he had played all year.
That’s about it for today. Have a great weekend.
Roll Tide.
