For the past 10-15 years, Alabama basketball has been a perpetual bubble team. Every year it seemed that the team rolled into February needing a few wins, and most years they didn’t do enough. When they did make the tournament, they were seeded in the bottom half of the bracket and didn’t go far.
Nate Oats has changed the culture around here, and in short order, to the point that none other than Joe Lunardi has Alabama projected as a #1 seed after the convincing win over LSU.

You almost have to do a double take when you see that, don’t you? Imagine coming into this season thinking that Alabama would be unbeaten in SEC play and a legitimate final four contender in February. We may sound like a broken record at this point, but lock Nate up with a fat long term deal now, Mr. Byrne, and give him the resources he requires to have this program competing for championships on a regular basis.
Roll Tide.
