Montana Fouts Strikes Out 16

The Crimson Tide defeat Mississippi State to stay undefeated.

16 Ks for “The Quarterback”.

Montana Fouts continues to pile up the strikeouts, tallying 16 Bulldogs for a new career high.

The first two innings went by pretty fast with not a lot of action on the base paths. In the third inning, the Bama speed of Kat Grill, Elissa Brown, and Alexis Mack took over with the Crimson Tide scoring two runs without the ball getting out of the infield.

Bailey Dowling just missed a home run to the deepest part of centerfield, but it was good enough to send another runner plateward. Mack would collect her second RBI on the night in the fourth to make the score 4-0, which was more than enough with Fouts in the circle.

Fouts (7-0) knocked down 16 of the 25 batters she faced. MSU big bopper Fa Leilua whiffed three times and Mia Davidson twice.

The Tide ace has double digit Ks in five of her seven starts this year. She has a total of 77 victims in 40.1 innings of work - just under two per inning.

The next game for Alabama is Friday against Kent State at 4 p.m. CT with a second game to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion.
