Happy Tuesday, everyone. Not too much going on today but the football team did get their rangs. and they are spectacular.
That is a lot of bling, folks. They deserve every bit of it.
Mike Rodak has a rundown on everything Nick Saban said during the spring game.
— In their pregame meeting with the announcing crew, the offensive staff said Keilan Robinson is expected to be a “do-it-all guy” for Alabama this season. Robinson, who opted out last season, was listed at running back on the school’s website before being switched to wide receiver last week, then back to running back. He was listed as both on Saturday’s roster, but was used at running back.
It seems like Keilan is going to have a major role this season. His explosiveness cant be denied.
Speaking of explosive, Agiye Hall is getting all kinds of attention.
Before that, Hall brought Bryant-Denny Stadium to his feet with a 37-yard reception in the second quarter where he secured a deep ball while falling backward against walk-on defensive back DJ Douglas. All four of the freshman’s catches on the day went for first downs. He would have added a fifth first-down reception had his 28-yard catch not been called back by a penalty during the third quarter.
Like Metchie two years ago, Hall lined up with the second-team offense, doing his damage against the second-team secondary. However, when asked about the freshman receiver during ESPN’s broadcast, Saban wasn’t shy to dole out praise.
The competition at WR is going to be fierce in the fall.
Last, Joe Lunardi has Alabama projected as a 1 seed next season.
If you liked the last NCAA tournament, just wait. The epic Final Four game between Gonzaga and UCLA could happen again. If this first bracket for the 2021-22 season were to play out exactly as projected, the Bulldogs and Bruins would meet for the national championship on April 4, 2022. Wow. Joining the Zags and UCLA as No. 1 seeds are Kansas and Alabama, with Villanova, Michigan and Purdue right behind them in the chase for the top line. We will, of course, be monitoring all of the offseason player movement and update these brackets at least one each month throughout the spring and summer.
God bless Nate Oats.
That’s about it for now. Have a great day.
