The movement is a rhythm to us...

We Stand Up
Vanity Fair

Hello, friends. The first round of the NFL draft will have come and gone by the time you read these modest words, but it’s still in the near future as I sit here and fulfill my musical duty to the RBR family. I listened to one of my children play the first song on this list earlier this week at his high school band concert, so it’s resonating even stronger than usual for me. A few other tunes with somewhat similar themes popped up as well, so I included videos for each of those (although I’m quite fond of the lighter fare here, such as Ween’s catchy “Voodoo Lady” and “Rock the Casbah” by the only band that matters). At any rate, I’d love for you to share your own roots, rock, reggae, country, western, etc. So show us whatchya got, people. Laissez les bon temps roulez...

  1. Glory by Common & John Legend
  2. Voodoo Lady by Ween
  3. Fortunate Son by CCR
  4. Rock the Casbah by The Clash
  5. Sitting Still by R.E.M.
  6. Hero Worship by The B-52’s
  7. De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da by The Police
  8. I Need to Know by Tom Petty
  9. Sunday Bloody Sunday by U2
  10. Meatcake by Blackbone

Bonus: Birmingham Sunday by Joan Baez
