They call him “Cornbread” with good reason.
Deonte Brown is a behemoth of a man, standing 6’4” and listed at 350 lb. though that may be a bit on the light side. He predictably has extraordinary power as a run blocker, but make no mistake, this big man can move. Brown has been a longtime favorite of SEC analyst and fellow offensive lineman Cole Cubelic. Check out this effort.

The knock on Cornbread has been weight control. He has been rumored to balloon as high as 370 at times, which will not fly at the NFL level. He also failed a mandatory drug test going into the 2018-19 playoffs which caused him to miss those games plus the first four of the 2019 regular season. When on the field, however, he has been dominant and seemed to turn a corner this season with no apparent problems.
Brown uses his hands well and had surprisingly nimble feet in pass protection at the college level. His best fit would be in a power/counter based offense, but as seen above he has shown remarkable athleticism for a man his size. As long as he stays focused on keeping his body in great condition, the sky is the limit for him.
