After a sweep of Kentucky in the Super Regional, the Crimson Tide advance to Women’s College World Series for the 13th time in team history. With the return of Lexi Kilfoyl to the circle, Alabama has put the rest of the field on notice that they are no one-pitcher team.
Thanks to some major upsets in the Supers, the top bracket is a bit of a cakewalk for the Sooners. Top-seeded Oklahoma will face surprising James Madison, while 5-seed Oklahoma State faces back-from-the-dead Georgia. JMU and UGA are unseeded.
In Bracket Two, No. 3 Alabama faces perennial power Arizona who began the postseason as the 11 seed. Second seed UCLA gets No. 10 Florida State. The winners face off the next day while the losers meet in an elimination game on Saturday. Clearly, winning the first game is vital to reaching the final.
