Flat. Tentative. Error-prone. Conservative. Soft. Outcoached. Lucky.
Undefeated.
There aren’t a whole lot of pretty adjectives I have to use to describe Alabama’s final 45 minutes versus its first 15, but at the end of the day, the No. 1 Crimson Tide kept the one that matters the most, as it eked out a road win over No. 11 Florida in the Swamp. Thank god that game was 60 minutes and not 65.
Talk about a way to open SEC play, huh? But here we are. The better team won, but the team that played better, longer did not. Still, the Tide moves to 1-0, and the Gators drop to 0-1.
‘Bama gets Southern Miss next week, and lord are there a lot of things to work on. From sideline to the midfield logo. Then perhaps Alabama has its most dangerous game on the schedule: No. 17 Ole Miss makes the trip to Tuscaloosa. And you can bet Lane Kiffin and the Rebels were positively giddy watching Alabama stagger around with the inside zone today.
Brent will be around with Initial Impressions soon enough. Celebrate...I guess? Some wins can feel like a loss though, and you can be forgiven if the bad taste from this one lingers.
