Well that was unpleasant. As to the graphs, I'm not sure what to say. The SR by Drive is pretty indicative of how the night went. There were no scoring drives until the 4th quarter and overtime, 4 of the 12 drives were 3 and outs, and our two longest drives (6 with 11 plays and 7 with 14 plays) only resulted in field goals.

Looking at the Yards to Success seems to tell the story to some extent. On drive 1 we hovered around 5 yards to success and very well could have ended it with a touchdown. Drives 2, 3, and 4 are strictly increasing and that's not good. On drive 3 we get up to 15 yards to success. Drive 6 started out looking good by hovering around the 5 yards to success or dipping below it until the end of the drive where it again starts to head up in an alarming way and ends in a field goal. After that the graph looks pretty erratic and most don't end in a touchdown. Drive 9 is an exception, but it required a facemask penalty to save the drive and us to score a rushing TD.
I still think that there is a SPC style chart for drives, but I haven't been able to visualize it yet. Hopefully, that's something I can work on over the part of the year where real football isn't played.
On to penalties... again. Since the data source that I use for most of my graphs doesn't reliably report penalties, I have grabbed the penalty data below from a different dataset. For the table that lists which penalties were committed I am still using my first data source. The table below will include SEC vs SEC and SEC vs Others which I'll call SEC vs Opponents. When I get more time I will make a SEC vs SEC table. The mean and standard deviation for SEC vs Opponents are mean_SEC = 6.67 and stdev_SEC = 2.99.
SEC involved games: mean = 6.67, stdev = 2.99

Summing up those penalties, finding their mean, and calculating the z-score give the table below sorted from largest to smallest. This is not the list you want to be at the top of, but there we are at 2 standard deviations above the mean. Tennessee is the next worst at 1.78 standard deviations above the mean and Georgia is way at the bottom at 2.45 standard deviations below the mean!

I am thinking about classifying penalties according to whether they are judgement calls and if they are effort penalties. For example a 12 Men on the Field penalty is not a judgement call and its not an effort penalty (I'm ignoring that a player could be trying to run off and gets caught on the field). I think a pass interference call is a judgement call and an effort penalty again ignoring the obvious times a defender purposely grabs a receiver. I need to think about how to classify the 68 different penalties I have listed. I think this might be of interest since a False Start is not a judgement call and should be pretty consistently called on all teams, but a PI is a judgement call and so it would be interesting to see if these are called differently across teams. A False Start is not an effort penalty, but Facemask is and maybe this can be used to measure a teams discipline.
That's all I have for today. Roll Tide!
